Merlin was founded in 2003 by Richard Thompson with one vision in mind; to provide a strong commercial and management edge to personalities across the whole of the entertainment industry. From music and sports talent, to high profile TV personalities, Merlin’s constantly growing client roster only goes to prove that this approach was just what the industry needed.
With over 21 years of marketing experience, Richard has been involved in many ventures, initially founding two agencies, The First Stop Group and EMS, both of which were snapped up by larger networks. Keen to continue his relationship with EMS, Richard became the CEO and Chairman of European Business of its parent company Mosaic PLC.
Recognised as a key player in the marketing and entertainment management industry, Richard has won numerous awards including Marketing Agency of the year, Young Entrepreneur of the year, IBM Dealer of the year and was a member of The Sunday Times Board of the future. In addition Richard has sat on the board of other un-quoted companies including the board of Surrey County Cricket Club as non-exec Director.
